Time to say Good Bye to MS Paint: Microsoft recently rolled out a list of features that are going to be removed or deprecated in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. As per the list, there will be no MS Paint in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. MS Paint is one of the legacy applications of Windows that all of us have loved. MS Paint has served for 32 years and now is the time to say it Good Bye.

No MS Paint in Windows

We should emphasise on the word deprecated. The term deprecated means that MS Paint will not be removed completely straight away. As per Microsoft, “MS Paint is not going away. In addition to new 3D capabilities, many of the MS Paint features people know and love like Photo Editing and 2D creation are in Paint 3D – the new app for creativity, available for free with Windows 10 Creators Update. In the future, we will offer MS Paint in Windows Store also for free and continue to provide new updates and experiences to Paint 3D so people have the best creative tools all in one place”. As Internet Explorer is still part of Windows, but it has been replaced by Microsoft Edge.

Paint 3D will be replacing the services of MS Paint. Paint 3D has many of the old features of MS Paint plus its own new features as it goes into an extra dimension. Key points that we can conclude are:

  • 3D paint is going to replace the services of MS Paint.
  • MS Paint will be available in Windows Store for free.
  • There will be no updates for MS Paint.
  • The entire focus of Microsoft is going to be on Paint 3D. Updates will be available for 3D Paint only.
  • MS Paint has done a wonderful job for 3 decades.

Apart from MS Paint, there are a handful of applications, that will no longer be a part of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Some of them are:

  • Outlook Express
